GIORGIO MORODER

Papp László Budapest Sportaréna

2019. május 15. 20:00

A legendás zenei producer, Giorgio Moroder bejelentette legelső élő európai turnéját!
A sokak által a diszkó keresztapjaként vagy az elektronikus tánczene megalapítójaként ünnepelt 78 éves, többszörös Oscar- és Grammy-díjas Moroder 15 várost érintő európai turnéra indul 2019 tavaszán, köztük érintve a magyar fővárost is. Az „A Celebration of the 80’s” című turné során az olasz dalszerző, producer és DJ karrierjének fénypontjait zenekara és vokalistái kíséretében adja elő, egy igazán látványos és szemkápráztató színpadi show keretében. A hazai közönség 2019. május 15-én, a Papp László Budapest Sportarénában láthatja a produkciót, a Broadway Event és a Multimedia Organisation szervezésében.

Első elismeréseit a hetvenes években szerezte, egyrészt saját zenéjével és a Donna Summer részére írt dalaival - többek között az „I Feel Love”, az „On the Radio”, a „Love to Love You Baby” és a „Hot Stuff” című slágerekkel. Sikere további együttműködések sorához vezetett, olyan nagy nevekkel dolgozott együtt, mint Cher („Bad Love”), Blondie („Call Me”), David Bowie („Cat People”), Debbie Harry („Rush Rush”), Freddie Mercury („Love Kills”), Bonnie Tyler („Here She Comes”) és Pat Benatar („Here’s My Heart”).

Az Éjféli expresszhez írt zenéje, a Top Gunból a Berlin „Take My Breath Away” című dala, valamint a Flashdance-ből a „What a Feeling” három Oscar-díjat és négy Golden Globe-ot hozott neki.

2013-tól Moroder DJ-ként dolgozott, zenét készített a Google Racer című játékához, és közreműködött a Daft Punk Random Access Memories slágeralbumán, a „Giorgio by Moroder” című számban.

A Celebration of the 80’s turné koncertje egy klasszikus és mai dance slágerekkel teli este lesz.

Legendary music producer Giorgio Moroder announces his first ever live tour in Europe. Hailed by many as the Godfather of Disco or even the very founder of electronic dance music, at 78 years young of age the multi Academy Award and Grammy Award winning Moroder is embarking on a 15-city European tour in April and May 2019. The tour production entitled A Celebration of the 80’s will see the pioneering Italian songwriter, producer and DJ perform the highlights from his prolific career in a spectacular stage show with dazzling visuals and lighting alongside his band and vocalists. The Hungarian audience will see this production on 15th May, 2019 in Papp László Budapest Sportaréna, organized by Broadway Event and Multimedia Organisation.

Moroder has been a major influence in the music industry for over 55 years, starting in 1963. He was the first to put dance music to a repetitive percussive beat and to abandon the laws of harmony and put the synthesizer central to his music.

He first gained recognition in the 70s with both his own music and his productions for Donna Summer (“I Feel Love”, “On the Radio” and “Love to Love You Baby”, “Hot Stuff” among others). This led to a string of other collaborations with big names like Cher (“Bad Love”), Blondie (“Call Me”), David Bowie (“Cat People”), Debbie Harry (“Rush Rush”), Freddie Mercury (“Love Kills”), Bonnie Tyler (“Here She Comes”), and Pat Benatar (“Here’s My Heart”). His massive contribution to popular music has been recognized with no less than four Grammy Awards.

Besides working with the biggest artists of the 70s and 80s, Moroder also composed and produced the soundtracks for movies that much like himself have become iconic symbols of the 80’s, such as American Gigolo, Cat People, Scarface, Electric Dreams, The Never Ending Story, Top Gun, and Midnight Express. His scores for Midnight Express, Berlin’s “Take My Breath Away” from Top Gun and “What a Feeling” from Flashdance earned him three Academy Awards and four Golden Globes.

Starting in 2013 Moroder has been performing as a DJ, provided the music for Google’s game Racer, and contributed to Daft Punk’s “Giorgio by Moroder” from their hitalbum Random Access Memories. This collaboration would in 2014 land him the Grammy for Album of the Year. In 2015, Moroder released his latest studio album Déjà Vu, which contains collaborations with Sia, Charli XCX, Kylie Minogue, Britney Spears and Kelis, among others.

Giorgio Moroder comments on his first ever live tour: “It is something I have always wanted to do, fans kept reaching out to me, asking if I would ever do a real tour. Back in the days it was unthinkable for producers to ever leave their studios. That territory was reserved for the singers. Today, DJ’s and music producers have become the superstars of popular dance music, so the time feels right and I am so excited to be finally doing this!”

A Celebration of the 80’s will be an evening filled with his dance hits, both classics and recent. The performance will stay true to his roots in a production execution that is fit for the future. Fans will see Moroder conduct, play the vocoder, electronic effects and sounds. He will play the piano and he will share personal stories that have never left the walls of his studio before. He will pay tribute to longtime muse Donna Summer, with the disco-diva live on screen performing in sync with Moroder and his band.

The great hits and moods of the 70’s and 80’s will be come to live on 15th May, 2019 in the Papp László Sportarena. Awesome sight and show, iconic music and as Nile Rogers said: “The man who invented dance music”.
